Learning English can be expensive and time-consuming, but it doesn't have to be. If you want to learn English at your own pace and without spending much, then the 29 FREE courses listed below are a great place to start. We have two types of courses - text-based courses hosted on websites and YouTube video-based courses. We recommend combining one of each type at the same time.

Courses range from absolute beginner A1 to advanced C1. We examined each course for quality and handpicked only the ones that met the criteria - comprehensive, engaging, and effective.

Feel free to bookmark this list and come back to it as you advance through your English language journey.

You'll notice that courses reference levels from A1 to C1 or beginner to advanced. Here is a short explanation of each level:

  1. Beginner (A1): At this stage, learners have a basic vocabulary and can understand simple sentences. They can introduce themselves and answer questions about personal details like where they live and who they know.
  2. Elementary (A2): Learners at this level can understand and communicate in familiar situations but need repetition. They can discuss routine tasks and describe their surroundings in basic terms.
  3. Intermediate (B1-B2): At this level, people can deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling and can describe experiences, opinions, and plans. They have a broader vocabulary and better grasp of grammatical structures.
  4. Advanced (C1-C2): Advanced learners can understand long and complex texts, speak fluently without searching for words, and can use the language for professional, academic, and social purposes.
